Hello everyone. I've a hard time reading most anything on this forum.

I'm from the north shore  (Massachusetts) in the USA.

I have a 1957 Volvo tp21 #621

It has been modified a bit before I got it years ago.

this includes larger 36" goodyear suregrip tires on the original rims,

Chevy 350 engine

Chevy Th350 transmission

Power steering

Power brakes

Modern interior makeover

front window and hatch sealed up

custom front bumper

and a list of other things.

I'm in the process of fabricating perches to use the original GM motor mounts

and I'm also installing a better power steering pump.

Also looking to fabricate new fenders. The original are showing alot of rust for the front ones, this was due to modifications made to them before I got it.

Some of the things I've done would be:

new transmission filter + seals

new headers and exhaust

stripped the engine down to the block + heads and replaced all the freeze plugs

new edlebrock intake manifold

new holey carburator

full tune up,

new water pump and pulley and fan

pulled the radiator and flushed it

new radiator hoses and T-stat

new fuel pump,

Honed out the wheel brake cylinders and replaced the rubbers

replaced 90% of the brake lines

among a list of other things.

The Hi / low work perfect, The lockers work perfect, the body is in great shape, no rott holes, the frame is excellent.  All in all its a very nice machine, just a bit far from being stock.

I'll be continuing to work on this project, although not much is going to get done because winter is about here and I have a close climate to you guys. I don;';t really want to part with it but I could really use the money other ways.

Thanks for reading..

But, your sugga, please post images and also movies if you have any! I'd really like to see it!

Thanks for the welcome!

yes, it is a work in progress and winter is setting in.

This means not much will be happening with it till spring. =(

I've posted a few pics from when I was working on it and some others. Enjoy!

Ok.. I uploaded alot of pictures into a photo bucket thing.

They may not be in the best order.. and there were many more pictures of the engine as it was getting closer to completion, unfortunately those pictures were lost due to a bad memory card.

Any of the case, here is what we have, when the snow season is over I will continue to work on it.

Thanks for looking =)

PDT_Armataz_02_30.gif Nice car!

On the picture of the brake drum are the springblades clearly visible. They look very sad. Mine were tired too but not so much.

PDT_Armataz_02_02.gif But there is hope. Altyco still have almost all the springblades for sale and I got mine delivered yesterday and at a very good price too.

ah, the weight of a sugga sitting on the axles for 52 years has made them sad.. I'd be interested in knowing a bit more about the springs if you can send me some information. Also, if there is information for the axle seals, hub seals?

Thanks!

Hi Evil_Trolloc

Nice job on the "Sugga". Do you have any clue at all how your car got "over there"? As far as I know there is at least 3 "Suggas" on the American mainland.PDT_Armataz_02_18.gif Do you know that there is only 724 made.

I´m starting a new project right now, sugga of course....

Best regards Kalkyl

Greetings,

I reciently imported a Sugga (# 148) from Sweden to San Diego. I'm in the process of restoring it. I plan to make a desert rat out of it. It has the penta B36 (AQ180) engine in it but I suspect it is not original. I also suspect that the transmision is not origional becuase reverse gear is in the wrong place. So far I have resleeved all of the brake cylinders and replaced the brake lines, replaced the leaf springs, replaced the drive shafts and U joints, replaces the shocks and put new  military tires on it.

Any suggestion you might have about the project would be greatly appreaciated.

Hi. The eng. is as you mentioned not original. the orig. eng is an L6 gasoline side valve; Volvo ED 90 HP. Take care on the Sugga. It is a classic. The B36 is also a nice eng. old, not a Hi peformance but a nice sound. A good carb and a manifold wouldn´t hurt.

Hey, I found this pict. of a nice Sugga.

Thanks Kalky,

I've heard of this vehicle on the west coast of the US but have never seen it in person. I'll

post updates as my project progresses.

I like the modifications you've done on it...made it more practical...probably alot easier to track down parts now. lol  I'd be interested though....email me with what you are thinking and details you'd like to share.
