Fälgar till TGB 30/40

Är det någon som vet ytterdiameter och bredd på bromstrumman?

 

Jag håller på att leta upp nya fälgar med rätt offset till min TGB 30.

 

Först fick jag kontakt med RAC Export Trading i Fulda, Tyskland. De levererar diverse lastbilar till hjälporganisationer. Många av deras bilar är utrustade med Trilex 10x20 fälgar med 14.00 R20 däck på. RAC rekommenderade dock att välja Trilex 8,5x24 fälgar med 12.00R24 däck istället.

Jag är nu i kontakt med SAF holland som tillverkar Trilexfälgar. De vill veta hur stor bromstrumman är för att kunna avgöra om de kan lösa mina problem.

Fördelen med Trilex är att man har en lös adapter för navet, detta gör att det är hyfsat enkelt att få naven tillverkade med rätt offset. Jag tror även att det kan bli ganska snyggt med Trilexfälgar på bilen.

Jag hade nog valt 22.5" fälgar för det sitter på de flesta nya bilar i Nato och är enkla att skaffa om man skadar en fälg,

sen tror jag inte Trilex-systemet funkar på 30-40 axlar.

En beg. 22.5" kostar c:a 50 Euro

Jag hittar inte 22,5" fälgar med 100mm offset, det närmsta jag kommer är 115mm. Det jag skall göra är att använda en adapter så jag bytar inte hela navet. Adaptern bultas precis som befintlig fälg.

i use a 10V20 Rim with 120mm Offset and 14.00R20 Tyres.

A Offset less than 120mm fits better !

So I can buy rims from the German MAN KAT 1 and just mount them to my TGB 30 without any problem?

Which tyre would I then choose?

What about rims with 55mm offset?

I have 22,5" rims with that specification.

Hi Björn,

 

the only thing you must do is the bolt holes in the rim sink for the inner nuts.

 

this TGB drives with KAT1 rims on 14.00R20 Michelin XZL

or you can drive the bigger 16.00R20 on the same rims (more horsepower is necessary)

how wide are your rims ? 10 inch ?

i think it`s no problem, but you can measur it !

They are 9" wide. I know how to messure but I don't have any original tgb30/40 rim to messure at. Anyone else?

Hi Johan,

 

to know if the 9x22,5 has enough space, you don`t need the original rim.

Measured from the outer side of the fender to the surface of the brake drum.

 

This dimension you must convert to your rim...

 

it's very difficult for me to explain it in English what i mean !!

what size of tires do you want to drive ?

You are not allowed to change the axle track more than ±15mm. Therefor is it only possible to change the offset with ±7,5mm. That's why I need rims with 92,5-107,5mm offset.

The original rim has following measurements:

Width                 12 inch                   

Diameter          26,5 inch

Offset                100 mm

Pitch circle        335 mm

Stud hole          25,4 mm

Center hole     281 mm

Duke775 - I don't have any car to messure at, I only have a few rims laying here.

 

4CON - Are the inspection hard about the axle track? I think they only care about if the tires are inside the fenders.

I don't know about the inspection yet. I have my registration inspection in march.I have just checked the regulations so far, will check the possibilities during the registration inspection...

now i understand your problem...

In Germany it is no problem to change the track, 

as long as the tires are covered !

 

remember that for the same track width

the offset 100 mm on a 12 inch rim is about 75 mm offset with a 10 inch

and for the 9 inch rim about 62mm offset

 

The truck is not my, its one of the rare TGB in Germany.

The wheel track is measured between the centerlines of left and right rims. The offset is the distance between the centerline of the wheel and the plane of the hub-mounting surface of the wheel so it should be the same for all widths. Next rule is that the tyre must not be able to touch the car body in any position (that sets the maximum width). Another rule is that the circumference shouldn't be changed more than 5% (I have to check the value, but I'm pretty sure that it's 5%).

A 15 foot container should be great...

You're right!

I have expressed myself wrong.

I mean a 12 inch with 100 mm wheel offset is 20 mm further out

as a 10 inch with 100 mm offset.

If 10 inches is just stand so you need a 75 mm offset.

I mean the width from edge to edge of the outside of the wheel.
